Our target is to create a system of education designed for children that have difficulty with normal schools. ATK teachers would have the ability to access the places in them, which are strengths and would empower them with their knowing, rather than discharging them based on their weakness. Access schools would validate kids for what they are truly great at, rather than negating them for their difference
Access Schools would be after-school programs or schools that educate kids in a more expansive and dynamic way, so they can expand beyond the limitations of their current education and have a different possibility
What if children labled 'special needs,' actually had talents and abilities beyond what is considered normal? What if things like Autism, ADD and ADHD were something far greater than the wrongness society has judged them as? Teachers, parents and others are changing their points-of-view and with that, changing their lives and the lives of children. How does it get any better than that?
